It was a big day for our 10U and 12U teams that played in the Tom Kuyper spring League. Both teams took 1st place. The 10U team won a close game in the finals wrapping up an undefeated season at 8-0! These boys have come so far in such a short period of time and have a lot of potential. Our 12U white team played “up” in the 13U playoffs going against taller, bigger, and stronger kids. The playoff weekend started last night as they won by seven over The Eagles. Today was a day to remember for these boys as they beat Jump Athletic White 13U in the semifinals in a very exciting and emotional double over time game.
It was a very difficult game for me as I coached the 13U team and even though I was thrilled for our 12U boys I of course felt bad for our 13U team who lost a very tough game and played their hearts out. The 13U white team is a new group that has only played together for a short period of time. With some time and development they will be another Jump team that will win some championships.
The 12U white team after winning in double over time in the semi finals had to muster up even more energy to play the finals just two hours later against a tough Tom Kuyper team. After getting down early they fought back like they always do and won the finals by 8! This group of kids have so much heart and never quit and are a Jump Athletic team to keep an eye on. The Coaches for both the 10U and 12U teams have done a tremendous job with these boys! They truly care about these kids and the development of them on and off the court. We are looking forward to an exciting hot summer of hoop action.

Jump Athletic teams had a tremendous winter season in the ABL league. Every one of our teams finished 1st or 2nd! Our teams continue to progress and develop thanks in part to our ongoing training academy and our amazing coaches. We are looking forward to another solid season in the spring league.
We’re psyched about our upcoming Thanksgiving Shootout basketball tournament. Turkey and hoops, what can be better?! We’ll be featuring the top teams in Arizona and surrounding states. The three-day tournament, which is sanctioned by USSSA basketball, will have six boys grade divisions; 3rd/4th/5th/6th/7th/8th and three girls divisions 7th/8th.
The tournament in Flagstaff was a great opportunity to get out of the heat and for the team to keep playing basketball. It was an opportunity for me to get to know these kids more and for the team to bond as a unit which is crucial in team sports. Coming in 1st place is always nice. They lost focus in one of the games but were able to redeem themselves in the final against the team they lost to. Redemption is always solid in sports. The development of our teams is very important to Jump Athletic. Not the winning aspect but more so the development of these kids and preparing them for real life experience.
